March 8th 2010 Members of The British Society of Film and Television Badgers (BSFTB) have voiced their concerns after once more missing out on a number of Oscars at last night's awards ceremony, leading some to accuse the Academy of blatant badgerism. ![]() Dave Watt, a founder member of the society, told Stinky Ponky "This is the third year running we've lost out at the Oscars. Once is bad luck, twice could be coincidence, but to lose in every single category where badgers were nominated - including 'Best Badger Makeup' - well that's clear discrimination. Someone at the Academy clearly has a problem with badgers.
"We've asked for an explanation. We want to know why 'Best Film About Badgers' was won by The Fox;why 'Best Badger Effects' was awarded to Watership Down 2: More Fucking Rabbits and why Vanessa Badger missed out on 'Best Badger In A Supporting Role' for her amazing performance in Ace Ventura 3: As If The Second One Wasn't Bad Enough. Sandra Bullock got that one. A BULLOCK for Christ's sakes! And she wasn't even in it! Actually, she won everything come to think of it; 'Best Badgerette,' 'Worst Badgerette,' 'Most Likely To Look Good In Black And White Stripes...'
"Surely Sandra Bullock can't be eligible for an Oscar after Speed 2: It's Just A Fucking Boat? That was criminal."
Stenton Frink-Mulligan, a spokesman for the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences told Stinky Ponky "Suggestions that the Academy is guilty of Badgersim are simply ridiculous. There has been an unfortunate history of badgerism in Hollywood, but the Academy has never been linked to it, and does not condone it. In fact we actively sort to discourage badger shaving in the 50's, and worked hard to help badgers with oversized testicles to work in the film industry in the 80's. We have never turned our backs on the badger film industry, and we recognize 20th Century Badger as a major player in the market.
"The best sex I ever had was with a badger. Called Ron."
