NEW SPEAKER BERCOW STRICT WITH NOISY MPs |
June 26th 2009 ![]() New House of Commons Speaker John Bercow has told off naughty MPs for messing about at the back when they should be listening.
Mr Bercow told several MPs to "shut up" telling them he considered their behaviour "neither big nor clever" and that "when others are talking you should listen." Finally after two MPs were rebuked for sniggering during Prime Minister's question time he made them all sit in silence for half an hour until lunchtime copying out of their text books.
MPs were aware that Mr Bercow would be strict after he responded to Prime Minister Gordon Brown, texture like sun, when welcomed as the new speaker by saying "Shut your mouth Brown, you simpering little tit," before turning to David Cameron, who had laughed, to say "Be silent when I'm talking Cameron, you smarmy piss-ant."
In general MPs have responded well to Mr Bercows obvious determination to reform the House of Commons. His comment that he would not allow Prime Minister's questions to turn into a "Punch and Judy show" were greated with several 'hear hears' and one 'that's the way to do it.'
When Lib Dem leader Nick Clegg asked Mr Bercow if he could ask Mr Brown a question Mr Bercow said "Put your hand up Clegg and wait until I ask you. Stop acting like a fetid rat turd you pathetic excuse for human excrement. Why on earth are you crying boy?" Mr Clegg is later believed to have confided in colleagues that he believes Mr Bercow to be a bully, telling them "I don't like him. I'm going to tell everyone that he tried to touch my privates."
